App Store News
Changes to screenshot requirements in App Store Connect
Apple has adjusted screenshot requirements in App Store Connect: according to developers, the “6.9-inch” size is no longer listed as a default upload option and has been replaced by “6.5-inch” as the standard.

Screenshots for 6.9-inch displays (introduced a year ago for iPhone 16 Pro Max) can still be uploaded manually through the View All Sizes option. If 6.9-inch screenshots are missing, 6.5-inch images will be scaled automatically for newer models.
Tags appear on app pages in iOS 26
Tags have been spotted on some app pages in iOS 26, particularly in Custom Product Pages. These tags differ from the ones shown under app icons in search results and may affect how apps are categorized and discovered.
Regional changes to subscription auto-renewals
Starting September 3, Apple introduced regional changes to subscription renewals. In Austria, Germany, and Poland, user consent is now required for subscription price increases. App Store will no longer auto-renew subscriptions with higher prices without explicit user approval – aligning with local regulations and consumer protection requirements.

App Store submissions now open for the latest OS releases
App Store is now accepting submissions for iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, tvOS 26, visionOS 26, and watchOS 26.
Developers can use Xcode 26 Release Candidate with the latest SDKs, test via TestFlight, and submit apps and games that leverage Apple’s broadest design update yet, including Liquid Glass and the new Foundation Models framework.

Google Play launches “Level Up” for game developers
The new Level Up program helps game developers re-engage users, improve app visibility in search, and unlock additional analytics in Play Console. The program provides developers with extra tools for retention, organic growth, and player behavior analysis.
