ASOdesk, a company that is focused on helping app developers make their mobile apps more discoverable in both the iOS and Android app stores, has raised $1M round of funding from Embria.

The company was founded in 2016 by the students of Institute of Physics and Technology as their thesis project, however the startup has grown rapidly and become a real business. ASOdesk provides tools for App Store Optimization (ASO), competitor Insights, app monitoring, and store analytics and has already become a leading ASO solution. ASOdesk is used by more than 25,000 mobile app developers from 80 countries. Among the clients are ABBYY, Yandex, OneTwoTrip, LovePlanet, Zimad, Kaspersky, and others.

ASOdesk has two unique indicators to assess the popularity of search queries in app stores, Traffic Score and Estimated Search Installs. Neither Apple nor Google have comparable indicators. Apple provides only a 5 to 10 Search Ads Popularity score and inside Google Play Developer Console you can find only queries that lead to installs.

ASOdesk estimation is based on a prediction model that analyses search queries and installs of applications connected to the service. They track over 20 million search queries in 100 countries, thus they know the position in app store ranking on any given day and can predict the popularity of the search query.

"For four years we were living off our own funds exclusively and now ASOdesk is a mature business, with a well-formed process, business model, strong team, and quality product. But by mid-2019 we realized that we have almost reached the limit of the CIS market and need an investor for growth acceleration and worldwide expansion," says co-founder & CEO Sergey Sharov.

"We weren't looking for an investor, but a strong business partner. As we understood that we have a lack of competence in business structuring, marketing, and international sales, so Embria became the perfect partner for us, as they have relevant experience both in App Business (Playkot, Belka Games, Fotostrana, Wachanga) and in B2B (Propeller Ads, HypeAuditor),'' he goes on.

The money that the company has obtained will be used for active product growth in 2020, team growth, as well as for expansion to Europe and retaining the positions in the CIS market.

"Embria has become the perfect partner for us. Besides the required sum, we also received a mentor with relevant experience both in App Business (Playkot, Belka Games, Fotostrana, Wachanga) and in B2B (Propeller Ads, HypeAuditor)" says co-founder & CEO Sergey Sharov.
